ABOUT ERIC
Eric Woods is a lifelong Northlander with a passion for community and public service. As a high school student, Eric began his civic engagement at a young age, registering his fellow students to vote and organizing for local campaigns for school board.
Eric attended the University of Missouri where he graduated magna cum laude with degrees in political science, history, and religious studies. While at Mizzou he served as Student Body President, where he advocated for the rights of students and championed causes related to fiscal transparency, sustainability, and inclusion.
Since then, Eric has volunteered for and served on boards of a number of non-profit and civic boards and committees, including the University of Missouri Extension Council in Clay County, the City of Gladstone's Environmental Management Advisory Committee, and the Kansas City Public Theatre. As a member of the Clay County Democratic Central Committee, Eric has supported Democratic candidates in Clay county for the past several years.
He is a registered Missouri Notary Public, and organized a group of notaries to provide free notarization services to voters choosing to exercise their rights to vote safely by mail during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, personally notarizing dozens of ballots himself.
In his personal life, Eric is an ordained (Internet) minister and has performed many wedding ceremonies for families and friends. He also enjoys cooking, gardening, and a friendly rivalry with his dog Barton.
